Yes, summer time is here. And with it, a whole host of skin care issues too. Oily skin gets oilier, and dry skin gets patchy. There are breakouts and pimples, rashes and roughness, and that acne just wouldn’t go away!
Just a few simple changes in your everyday skin care regimen can ensure that you are all set to glow through this season too. Here are few summer skin care tips that can come quite handy.
Here’s a holistic list of summer skincare tips that would help all skin types.
It’s not the easiest season for your skin, which is why I’ve made some adjustments to my holiday routine by keeping it a very simple- 3-4 products, that’s all you need.
- Help your skin of impurities with a gentle, hydrating cleanser. In the heat, choose a foaming cleanser to expertly refresh and clear the skin of surplus oils.
- Toners keep shiny summer skin at bay, leaving you with a clean, oil-free complexion. You can also use a Rose or Lavender Water or Thermal Water to spray and re-fresh your skin through the day.
- Holiday skin should look healthy, hydrated and glowing. Achieve this effect with a lightweight, skin-perfecting concentrate/ serums. Remember that your skin will need an antioxidants when you go out to the sun to protectit from a free radicals that cause a premature aging. The best antioxidants are: Vit C, Vit E, Ferulic Acid, Florentine.
- Warm weather calls for a light moisturiser with SPF – you don’t need a heavy lotion to hydrate your skin in the summer. Go for lightweight, non-greasy moisturiser such as
When you think about it, summer is the perfect time to be makeup free — your skin naturally gets a glow from the sun, and who wants to wear foundation in the humidity anyway?
It’s hot in the summer, so why add another layer of product to your face unless you must? Lighten up and consider stepping away from the foundation, which can smudge, melt and leave your skin looking shiny — just stick to a light BB cream or tinted moisturizer.
Even if you’re all about unicorn lattes and glitter nail lacquer, keep the iridescence away from your face. Sure, you want a nice glow, but products such as bronzer, eye shadow, and powders with too much luminosity are going to make you look unnatural as well as extra shiny and sweaty in the sun and humidity.
Raccoon eyes are never in style — especially not in the summer. So, regular mascara should be avoided on the daily. You could always go au natural, too, and skip the mascara and try Lash Lifting or Semipermanent Lashes.
Having a good facial after your summer holiday is important as well, as the outer ‘horny’ layer of the skin naturally thickens when exposed to the sun. This means that, after returning from your holiday, you will have a tendency for clogged pores and breakouts, so exfoliation and extraction are key.
